One more tutu size

I have added a tutu size.  The sizes (waist) now are 20", 22", 24" and 26". I am hoping to have 50 tutus to sell at Fairy Fest. I have 27 right now, with 5 more cut and ready to construct.
I have 17 sets of wings.

Tomorrow I will give a sneak peek of the small items your girls will love - priced $1-$5.

New tutus and pricing

I have developed a new tutu and I am calling it the can can.  Not sure why, but it seemed to fit.  I saw a display at a store with a mannequin wearing a bustier.  The skirt was cute, so I went up to look.  It was really organdy napkins pinned under the bottom edge of the bustier!  This is the inspiration for the can can. I have made them up in several different color combos, some will look good with ladybug wings, others with the dragonfly wings.

The pricing on the baby poof style will be $15 and the other 3 styles will be $20.  I am making all the tutus and they are very high quality.  The colors are such fun to work with and your little ones will love wearing them, or giving them for gifts!

The Heliotrope Fairy

This is the Heliotrope Fairy plate.  The real thing looks even cuter - too much shine to get a real clear picture.  I love her little outfit. Her skirt looks like her wings, and the flowers in her hair are so cute. Anyway, here it he poem on the back of it.

Heliotrope's my name and why people call me "Cherry Pie"
That I really do not know: but perhaps they call me so,
Because I give them such a treat, just like something nice to eat.

For my scent - O come and smell it!
How can words describe or tell it?
And my buds and flowers, see, soft and rich and velvety-
Deepest purple first, that fades to the palest lilac shades.
Well beloved, I know, am I - Heliotrope or Cherry Pie!

Red - tutus to go with lady bug wings

Today I sewed on the Queen Fairy's outfit. This weekend I will make her wings. She is a forest fairy.  Her colors are olive green, brown and gold.

I also sewed red tutus to go with the lady bug wings.  The lady bug wings have a headband with antennae boppers.  What fun.

A good blue day

It was a blue day today - blue tutus, that is.  I sewed 6 blue tutus and cut out my own fairy dress to test the pattern for the queen fairy. The sewing machines are humming. I have also painted small butterflies and some of the 3 dimensional blutterflies.  The 3 D ones would be the right size for fairy wings for 18" dolls like American Girl dolls. Tonight I will go thru the tulle and net scraps and see if I can make some doll tutus.

The Apple Blossom Fairy

The Apple Blossom Fairies
The Apple Blossom Fairies - another plate in my collection from Bradford Exchange. Don't you just love the collar on the littlest one?

The cute poem on the back of this plate:

Up in the tree we see you, blossom-babies,
All pink and white,
We think there must be fairies to protect you
From frost and blight,
Until, some windy day, in drifts of petals,
You take your flight.
You'll fly away!

But if we wait with patience,
Some day we'll find
Here, in your place, full grown and ripe,
the apples you left behind-
A goodly gift indeed,
from blossom -babies
To human kind!

Of ladybugs and Spring

Finally, Spring is coming - my yellow crocus are up and blooming! I am hoping the tulips I moved last year will be appearing soon too.

I have ordered some ladybug wings and the look really cute! I got red fabric today to make some red tutus.  It will be an adorable outfit!

The Pixie parlor is getting ready for the big day of the party.  I have ordered several cute Items your little fairies can purchase, of course there will be tutus, wings and hair garlands as well. The wings can even be worn by adults - a friend tried on some this last weekend. When he hopped around the wings fluttered!

The Lavender Fairy

The Lavender Fairy

Here is my favorite fairy .  This is a plate from the Bradford Exchange, based on the works of Cicely Mary Barker.

The poem on the back is:

Lavender's blue, diddle diddle,
so goes the song;
All around her bush, diddle diddle,
Butterflies throng.
They love her so well, diddle diddle
So do the bees:
While she herself, diddle diddle
Sways in the breeze.

Favorite Fairy?

Shalimar

What's your favorite fairy? Mine is The Lavender Fairy - an illustration on a Bradford Exchange collectible plate. My second is a little sculpture I got in New Orleans at a neat little shop - golden hair and green dress and wings.
